<p>The chronic pain and lack of mobility was tough for Corky, who had used to enjoy activities like backpacking.</p>
<p>“Is this the end of the road of my life?” he wondered.</p>
<p>He assumed that he would die young from a heart attack — and decided that he needed to take a drastic step to get back on the road to health.</p>
<p>He believed that the choice came down to surgery or a major lifestyle change. He chose the latter.</p>
<p>He discovered <em>The Gabriel Method</em> book online and became interested in visualization.</p>
<p>It’s a tool that proved to be incredibly helpful for Corky on his weight loss journey.</p>
<p>Through a regular visualization practice, Corky was able to shift his mindset around food, change the way that he ate, and develop a whole new self image.</p>
<p>Now, Corky enjoys a wide variety of foods — and continues to lose weight.</p>

<blockquote><p>“If you look at cancer, it basically drives the insulin that drives tumour growth,” JJ explains. “Fructose specifically has now been implicated in these really aggressive forms of cancer.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Sugar is also a key culprit in terms of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, fatty liver… the list goes on.</p>
<p>Artificial sweeteners aren’t the answer — women who drink one diet soda a day have a 30% higher chance of developing diabetes. These sugar substitutes trigger glucose intolerance, calorie dysregulation, and insulin resistance, and unbalance the bacteria in your gut (and this result can happen in less than two weeks)!</p>
<p>The bottom line: when it comes to weight issues, calories are NOT the main culprit.</p>
<p>The true villains are sugar and artificial sweeteners, and the havoc they cause to our hormone levels.</p>
<p>JJ’s advice: be a sugar maker, not a sugar eater.</p>
<p>What does that mean?</p>
<p>Your body will create the sugars that it needs — we don’t need to consume them in processed foods and sugary beverages!</p>

The study followed two groups of people. One group practiced daily yoga and deep meditation and the other did not.</p>
<h2>The Results from the Harvard Medical Study</h2>
